Dorothy Southern 'The Open Window' Painting

A charming example of Dorothy Southern's early work. A still life study depicting a vase of flowers placed before an open window. The scene looks over a mountain landscape with blossoming trees and clear blue skies. The artist shows a strong focus on symmetry within the scene, creating a balanced, calming composition. Painted on board and signed with initials to the lower right and addressed on reverse. 

Item would also look great mounted and framed, or as is. Item has some wear to it which is reflected in the price and shown in photographs. Some small losses to the edges and corners of the board caused by scuffing. Some minor markings to the reverse.
